Tenth Week of Development

Wow, time flew by fast! faster than the ball in our game even. Its potentially our last devlog as this is our last production week. We might add some really minor adjustments before the 27th. Which will get announced on a different devlog hence "potentially" last devlog.
It's been quite an experience! We've learned lots of things :).
It's time for us to show you what we did in our last week of polish!

Developers Polish

Bug fixes
There was a game breaking bug in our last build whenever the game would reset whilst the lightning puddles were playing an effect. It's been now fixed!

Visualization
Parry Effect
Whenever the player parries, a shield like effect plays to indicate the player stopping the ball!



Ball Parry Animation

The ball now does a little hop whenever it gets parried!


Supercharge Effect

The player now gets a lightning effect whenever they get supercharged!


Ball Trail adjustments!
The ball trail has been adjusted length wise and now also changes colour depending on which player hit it last!
This helped the players realise if the ball could damage them or not.



Around the arena

As you can see in the gifs above, we changed the colours of the environment a bit, to go for a Night Vibe. It also helps the players focus more on the ball, the characters and arena itself.

Ice floor fading in!

We also wanted our ice floor to fade in more smoothly. Before, it just spawned in and disappeared again with the start and end of the event. But now we have a way to make the transition more natural. It is not yet implemented in our game, but we can still show the preview here. Small tweaks could still be made if needed ofcourse!



Mark the players!

To make the players even more visible, we'll add some markers above their head. That way you don't lose track of your own player. These are very basic right now but still can upgraded if needed.
